NEYLAND NEW CHURCH. C o M M I T T B F. The Rev. J. H. A. Philipps, M.A., Picton Custle. G Lort PiiiUip*. Esq, M I' LIWUIMJ' LVIK, Cnptain Jackson, Neylantl Huuse. The Rev. James Alien, M.A Cantlemartin. The Kev. Joseph Tombs, Burton. The Rey. Peter Phelps, Llanstadwell. AT the Census of 1851 the population of the parish was 90.5; by the year 1861 IT HAD increased to 1745 and at the present time it is estimated at 2,000 So rapid an increase of people, almost twofold in ten years, calls for immediate increa-e of Church accom- modation. Something has already been done: the Church h",s been lately restored, and in the yelf 181;3. south aisle for eighty additional worshippers wns added, and its well-filled seats testify that it was not added need- lessly. But the population has increased principally at the eiistern side of the parish, at Neylandand Honeyboroui'H, where quite a new town has arisen. At present Divine service is held in the New Schoolroom, at doneyborongh. twice a week, on Sunday and Wednesday. But a Church is mpch needed, and will be built as'soon as £ 1,400 car be raised. Contributions towards this Church are e, rnestlv soli cited, and will be thankfully received.
