Monmouth Union. DISTRICT MEDICAL OFFICER. THE Office of District Medical Officer of the "Rag- land," District comprising the parishes of Lan- goven, Llandenny, Peiirose, Penyclawdd, Ragland, and Tregare, has become vacant. The Salary is JE25 per annum, which inol ides pay- ment for attendance, the supply of medicines, and all surgical appliances. The payment in surgical and midwifery cases is regulated by the scale in the order of the Poor Law Commissioners, bearing date the 24th day of July, 1847. The Guardians hereby give notice that on Saturday, the 10th of October, they will proceed to elect a gentle- man to fill the situation. Candidates must possess the qualifications specified in Article 168 of the order above referred to, and conform to the regulations of the Poor Law Commis. sioners-the particulars of which (or any other infor- mation required) may be had on application to the Clerk. Applications for the office, accompanied with testi- monials, are requested to be sent to the Clerk, at his office, on or before Friday, the 9th instant. Canvassing the Guardians by, or on behalf of any candidate, is strictly prohibited, and will be held to be a disqualification of any candidate pursuing that course. By order of the Board, E. THE VISITING JUSTICES of this Asylum are willing to receive Tenders from parties desirous of Contracting to supply the Asylum with MEAT and FLOUR from the 10th day of October to the 28th day of December, 1863. Tenders to be sent in not later than 10 o'clock in the morning, on THURSDAY, the 8th day of OCTOBER next, and superscribed "Tender for Flour," or as the case may be.
