SEPT. 23.-Wheat in moderate consumptive demand, at a decline in some instances of Id to 2d per cental Flour, dull sale, and rather favours purchase's Indian corn steady, mixed, 2i11S to 29s 3d. Egyptian beans, oats, ffld oatmeal, unchanged. COTTON, LIVERPOOL MARKET, SEPT. 29.-Fair demand, particulprly for American cotton. Sales perhaps 5,000 bales. HOPS, BOROUGH MARKET, SEPT. 29.—Messrs. Pattenden and Smith report an active demand for the new growth at fully late prices. TALLOW, SEPT. 30.—The market is dull. The present quota- tions are as follows :—Town tallow, 47s 3d, net cash; Peters- burg Y.C. on the spot, 48s 3d, new; October to December, 47s 9d to 48s: December, 48s 6d; January to March, 48s 9d; March, 493 3d to 39s 6d. HAY, SMITHFIELD MARKET, SEPT. 30.—Messrs. Harvey and Easton report trade slow, with a downward tendency. WOOL, LONDON.—There is hot much doing for home con- sumption, as buyers show little inclination to pay the high rates demanded by holders, but the speculative feeling is stili kept up though, for want of stocks, transactions are but of a moderate extent. Colonial Wboi. — The market remains firm. During thi last few days there has not been quite so much doing. At Havre, sales have been active: 590 bales Buenos Ayres and Monte Video unwashed sold at If 10c to 2f 55c the kilog; 9 ditto washed, 3f 50c; and 269 Cape of Good Hope unwashed, 2f 20c. The arrivals during the week were 532 bales. Buenos Ayres unwashed has been at If 45c to 2f 75c; some lots at prices kept secret, and some of damaged have also been sol Buenos Ayres heep skin, unwashed. If to If 20c. FRUIT AND VEGETABLES, COVENT-GARDEN.-The sup. ply of vegetables continues good. Importations of foreign fruit are also well kept up. Grapes and pine apples are very plentiful. Tomatoes and cucumbers are likewise abundant. Pears consist of Jersey Gratioli, Maria Louise, and d'Angouleme. Plums scarce. Potatoes are beginning to show disease. Cut flowers chiefly consist of orchids, pelargoniums violets, mignonette, and roses. CATTLE, METROPOLITAN MARKET, SEPT. 29.—We have a larger supply of beasts, still the average quality is very inferior; there is consequently not much reduction in choicest descriptions; but other kinds meet with a dull sale, and several remain unsold. The number of sheep is exactly the same as last week. The demand is smaller, and prices are not quite so high. Calves are selling as on Thursday last. From Germany and Holland there are 1,770 beasts, 9,620 sheep, 149 calves, and 45 pigs; Spain, 200 beasts; Ireland, 1,140; Scotland, 12 and 2,900 from the northern and midland counties.
