After an existence of 111 years, Gore's Adver- tiser; a weekly paper, which was at one time the leading commercial organ in Liverpool, has ceased to exist. The Trinity House authorities are making trial of various methods for signalling in foggy weather. The celebrated racehorse Gladiateur, who won the Two Thousand Guineas, the Derby, the St. Leger, and the Grand Prize of Paris in the year 1866, and the Gold Cup at Ascot in I860, died a few days ago at the Brick-lane Stud Farm, near Dunmow.
