COUNTY OF MONMOUTH. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that I have received a REQUISITION and PRESENT. MENT, made pursuant to the Prison Act, 1865," as follows, that is to say :— "To Charles Prothero, Esq., Clerk of the Peace for the County of Monmouth. If Sir,—-We, whose names are attached to the accom- panying Presentment,' request that you will give the Notice required by the 2-lth section of the Prison Act, 1865, in order that the same may be taken into con- sideration at the Quarter Sessions, to be holden on MONDAY, the 1st day of July next, by the Prison Authority of the Usk Prison. Presentment of the necessity for the Enlargement of the Uske Ga,ol and House of Correction. At the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the County of Monmouth, held at the Town Hall, Uske, on Monday, the 19th day of March, 1866, it was resolved :—' That all Criminal Prisoners be confined in Uske Prison and whereas in order to efficiently carry out this resolution it will be necessary to enlarge the said Uske Prison, therefore, in accordance with the provisions of the Prison Act, 1865, sec. 24, we, being Justices having jurisdiction within the district of the Prison Authority of the said Prison, do make presentment of such necessity for enlargement. And further we give notice, that at the General Quarter Sessions of the Peace for the County of Mon. mouth, to be holden at the Town Hall, Uske, on Mon- day, the 1st day of July next, we shall make applica- tion for the enlargement of Uske Prison to the extent that may there and then be deemed necessary to meet the requisitions of the said Prison Act, and for setting back certain portions of the outer boundary wall of the said Prison, if required by the enlargement that may be decided upon.
