"Ar the frightful and heartrending circumstances ^ttesding Shipwreck are so well known to all, and are oocalculated to excite the sympathy of every humane person, but especially of those who reside on the coaet, the Local Committee feel that they might only weaken j :'their appeal by adding any reasonings of th-eir own on the subject. They are, however, happy to be in a position to state that, through the Royal National Li £ e Boat Institution, j the cost, nmounting to £ 420, of the St David s new Idfe Boat and transporting carriage will be presented to the locality by Lord Dartmouth and his tenantry, on Condition that some assistance towards the expense, say i£2ftU, of a substantial an4 commodious boat bouse, and •'■Subscriptions of from C15 to JE20 a year to help to meet "he purely kocal expense of the coxswains'* salaries, and Tjf the crew for practising in the life boat every quarter, !°e collected in our town and its vicinity. The Parent ^Institution in London will pay all expenses of rewards 'to the crew of our life boats for saving or attempting to "Ive life also the cost of repairs, painting, replaoement lOf gear, &c, on the life bod establishment. The Local Committee, having received the promise of I^Uth valuable assistance from the Parent Institution in ^ondoa in aid of their own exertions, are anxious that inhabitants of St David's and its neighbourhood •■•would so far as possible, have the satisfaction and the 'credit of helping to maintain, by their own exertions and from their own resources, a life boa: for affording ■ •ttccour to those unfortunate persons who may be cast aWay on our chores. Without, however, the pecuniary assistance and tne hearty general co-operation of the people of St Davi s *nd its neighbourhood, slid Pembrokeshire at large, eir objects and those of the Society cannot be carried out in this place. The Local Committee, therefore, earnestly appeal to the benevolent people of St Day id s, and its neighbourhood generally, to aid them in this necessary *nd philanthropic undertaking. T Contributions in aid of the first cost of this Life «oat Establishment, and of its future permanent main- tenance, are earnestly solicited, and will be thankfully teceived at the Bankers of the Branch Institution, and IY all the members of the Local Committee, from whom "ery information can be obtained. N.B.—The Bishop of St David's, and J. H. Scourfield, M.P. have each given a donation of £ 10. DINNEFORD'S FLUID MAGNESIA.
