Post fr ec for Six Stamps, open ends, or 14 in a Sea led Envelope THE MOST STARTLING TRUTHS are con- tained in the LAST NEW BOOK on PREMATURE DE- CLINE and its ready removel; the modern treatment of certain disqualiifcations; with rules and numerous prescriptions for the speedy cure by very simple means of nervousness, debility, and all the more common diseases and supposed incurable maladies of the sexual system. Invalids will be astonished at its contents. By Dr. W. DE Roos. From long practical observation in the most famous Institutions of this country and the continent, the Author has had somewhat unusual facilities for acquiring that uniform success, which has hitherto characterized his treatment, and he refers with pride to the numbers he has been instrumental in restoring to health and happiness whilst to all who need such aid he offers every assurance of speedy restoration. Persons at a distance should forward a detail of their case by letter, with remittance, when advice and medicines Tilf be sent by return. Post-office orders to be made payable at the General Post Office, to Dr. WALTER HE noos, 25, Bedford Place, Bloomsbury Square, London, near the BRITISH MUSEUM. THE MOST WONDERFUL MEDICINE IN THE WORLD! CURE IN FOUR WEEKS.—THE GUTTLE A 11.V., or A EGETABLE LIFE DROPS, Protected by Royal Letters Patent; Sanctioned by the Faculte de France; <)-c., have in numberless instances proved their superiority over every other advertised Remedy for timidity, languor, lassitude, de- pression of spirits, excitement, distaste and incapacity for society, study or business, indigestion, pains and palpitation in the side, giddiness, noise in the head, &c. This medicine strengthens the vitality of the whole system, gives energy to the muscles, speedily removes nervousness, renovates the impaired powers of life, and invigorates the most shattered constitution. For skin eruptions, sore throat, pains in the bones, and those diseases in which mercury, sarsaparilla, &<• are too often employed to the utter ruin of health, its surprising efficacy has only to be tested. Before wasting valuable time in seeking aid from instruments, electricity, galvanism, with similar absurdities professing to set aside medicines, by American and other impostors, sufferers will do well to make fair trial of a remedy, which concocted on scien- tific principles, cannot fail. Price 4s. 6d. & lis., or four times the latter at 33s. per bottle, through all Chemists, or direct from 25, Bedford Place, WHERE THOUSANDS OP TESTIMONIALS MAY HE SEEN. THE THREE DAYS' CURE.—NEW TRENCH REMEDY THERAPIOA, uniformly adopted in the French hospitals and by the notabilities of the French faculty; in a re- markably short time, often two or three days only, without the slightest discomfort, inconvenience, or risk, remove's all discharges from the mucous membrane, whether of the urinary or other organs. It combines all the desiderata to be sought in a medi- cine of the kind, and surpasses everything hitherto employed. Devoid of all unpleasant taste and smell. In packets 2s. 9d., 4s. Rd., lis. 33. through all respectable medicine vendors, or sent direct from the establishment on receipt of stamps or post office order. The lis. size contains three at 4s. ûd., and those at 33s. four of the lis. The stamp, to imitate which is felony, bears the word "Thera- pion," in white letters, by order of HER MAJESTY'S HON. COMMISSIONERS, who thereby secure the proprietor against infringement throughout the United Kingdom and the colonies. In any of the above complaints more benefit may be derived in twentyfour hours by adopting the following simple means than is frequently brought about in six months by any other treatment. In bad cases if the Ointment be rubbed into the small of the back over the region of the kidneys, it will quickly penetrate, and, in most instances, give immediate relief. Six or eight of the Pills should be taken nightly accowling to circum- stances. Dipttaeria, Sore Throats, &c. These maladies are of so serious and dangerous a nature that the Ointment would not be recommended unless the Proprietor was sure of its effect. It will cure, when every other means have failed, if applied immediately, and not delayed until the patient is beyond recovery. It is a sovereign remedy for sore, throats. Settled coughs or wheezing will be promptly removed by rubbing in this unguent. Mothers should rub into the chest of their infants whenever there is any hoarseness, tightness, or other affection of breathing. Bad Legs, Bad Breasts,-Old Wounds. Sores and Ulcers. It is surprising how quickly a sore, ulcer or wound, deprives the body of strength, and unfits it for the duties of life; but it is not less wonderful to watch the effect of Holloway's Healine Ointment, when it is used according to the printed directions and assisted by appropriate doses of the Pills. The pain, inflamma- tion, and other morbid manifestations, soon disappear from the effected part and health and strength return. This treatment creates sound flesh, and therefore makes its cures complete. Gout and Rheumatism Will be cured with the greatest certainty if large quantities of the Ointment be well worked into the complaining parts. This treatment must be pcrseveringly followed for some time and duly assisted by powerful doses of Holioway's Pills. The essence of these diseases I'M in the blood, which has floating through each vessel the pain-giving poison which vitiates and inflames every tissue it comes in contact with, and produces the hot, swollen, elastic enlargement about the joints so charac- teristic of gouty and rheumatic maladies. Davies, Esq., coroner for the county, when the jury re- turned a verdict in accordance with the evidence.
PLOUGHING MATCH AT GOGERDDAN.
PLOUGHING MATCH AT GOGERDDAN. This match which had been announced for 16th of February, but had to be pefftponed in conse- quence of the severe weather, which reigned at that date, came off on Thursday last, in the field called Cae-rhyd-y-mingoch, on the estate of Pryse Pryse, Esq., and close to the princely seat of that gentle- man. A great number of persons collected to wit- ness the trial of agricultural skill. There were twenty three entries, and the prizes were divided into two classes—the first-class being for men who had already taken prizes for other matches, and the second cta-s for untried hands. There were eight competitors for the first-class prizes, and fifteen for the second. The field in which the match came off was well chosen for the purpose, and the day, not- wtth-tandins, the inclemency of the morning turned out beautiful—the sun shining brightly—and a fresh wind Mowing all the time. Ijhtrphruching of the first-class competitors was, wiitself,first-class;" and indeed, we doubt, whether work superior to it was seen in England or Wales. The ploughing of some of the men was perfect to the perfection of science, )h" furrows beinp: so straight and even that the eye could detect no swerve in their whole length. So nearly did the winners of the three first prizes approach each other in perfection, that the judges must have found it no easy matter to pronounce upon their respective claims. The prizes were awarded as follows: — 1st class, 1st prize, £$• David Morgan, Gogerddan prize, £ 10«-, Owen Rees, Gogerddan; 3rd prize, £ 1, John Edwards, Rhvdhir issa Richard Morgan, of Bryngwynmawr, was highly recommended by the judges. 2nd class, 1st prize, David Jones, Peithill; 2nd prize, John Jones. Dolybont; 3rd prize, VVilliaiu Hees, Tor- ghvyd. We may remark that the winner of the first-class, first prize, has won, within the last three years, £ -26 in prizes at similar matches. The judges were Mr. William Jones, Broncastell; Mr. Hamil- ton, farm bailiff on the Nanteos estate; and Mr. David Samuel, 1 enrhyngerwyn. The awards of the judges gave general satisfaction. All the ar- rangements for the match had been made with ex- cellent judgement by Mr. Henderson, farm bailiff on the Gogerddan estate. At the conclusion of the match, those present were hospitably regaled by the lord of the soil." THE USE OF BIRDs.-Four petitions have been presented to the French Senate asking the influence of that body in preserving birds which destroy insects hurtful to agriculture, and a committee of the Senate have drawn up a report on these petitions Many of the facis mentioned are very curious, and highly in favour of the preservation oi birds. Spar- rows, rooks, owls, and birds of that class are specially valuable according to this report, and it is proposed, for the preservation of birds, to prohibit bird-ne-ting and the destruction of all birds, except by with such exceptions as are named in the report.- British If orhman.

.. PETTY SESSIONS,—TREGARON.
PETTY SESSIONS,—TREGARON. On the 28th ult., at the Talbot Hotel, before J. E. Rogers, Esq., and the Rev. John Hughes. John Jones, weaver, of Tregaron, and Mary, his wife, were charged by Margaret Rees, of Tregaron, with having on the 23rd ult., on the highway, at Tregaron, used abusive language towards her, thereby causing her to be in bodily fear. The defendants were bound over to keep the peace for six months, and to pay costs. There were six cases of non-payment of poor rate brought on for hearing. The parties in each case paid the amount of rate claimed, with costs. Two cases of affiliation were heard and disposed of, and the business terminated. SEASONABLE CHARITY.—John Inglis Jones, Esq., of Derry Ormonde, with his usual consideration, has lately caused orders to be given at the different shops in Tregaron for the supply of certain quan- tities of warm clothing for the poor of this place. The Rev. John Hughes, who received a handsome sum of money for the purpose, caused the distribu- tion of the articles to take place on the 27th and 28th ult., under his own superintendence. The poor people seemed highly pleased as they departed with their large bundles, invoking blessings on the kind donor.
REVIEWS.
REVIEWS. THE ENGLISHWOMAN'S DOMESTIC MAGAZINE. London S. O. Beeton, 248, Strand. The story of Gtlmore's Ward" is growing in- tense in its interest. The myserious young heroine, Peri, has just been saved from a great peril; but, ent, judging by antecedents, her ultimate fate looms darkly in the future. The usual amount of essays and short stories fills up the rest of the number, which is accompanied, like its predecessors, with sheets of designs, coloured patterns, and fashion p ates, all, no doubt, valuable in the lady's boudoir. The present number is also accompanied with an original song, the words and music of which are flow ing and harmonious. THE Boy's OWN MAGAZINE. London: S. O. Beeton. Perhaps there is no more difficult task which can he set to a reviewer than that of noting periodicals. From month to month the serials bear a family re- semblance to one another, and the same thing has to be said of each, expressed only in different words. The first object of a reviewer is not unnaturally to find out some glaring error, upon which he may freely enlarge, and thus give to his article a sem- blance nt least of originality. Give him something to find ftuit with, and he can ring the changes of abuse for half a column; but where no fault is ever to be found, as in the case of the Boy's Magazine, the task is laborious beyond the belief of those who have never tried to accomplish it. To repeat of this month's number what he said of last month's, a writer laying any claim to respectability, is ashamed to do, and to pass over in silence what contains so much excellence is an injustice to both the editor of the magazine and to the public. In the March number of the above serial we can find nothing to abuse, but much to praise; and the best proof we can give of our honesty of opinion is by warmly commending its perusal to our readers, which we heartily do. The papers which it contains on zoology are especially worthy of notice. THE Boy's MONTHLY MAGAZINE. London: S. O. Beeton. This marvellously cheap periodical well sustains, this month, the reputation which its editor haslong since gained for it. The story of London Stone" progresses favourably. The poetical pieces with which the number is gemmed are happily selected. Among-t those in the present number is Bryant's pretty poem on Marcil," which concludes with the following lines Thou brinsr'st the hope of those calm skies, And that soft time of sunny showers, When the wide bloom on ein-th that ucs Seems of a brighter world than ours." There are also some musical lines on Spring," by Thomas Carew, one of the most original poets of the Restoration. The number altogether is about the best that has yet appeared.

I LOVE to gaze on thee, thou proud, rolling ocean. When thy mountainous billows dash their spray in the sand And the sea-gulls above thee are restlessly flying, Now screaming, now swimming, as thev haste to the land. I love to gaze on thee when the moonbeams are sleeping, And tremulous breezes gentty ripple thy breast; And my heart thrills with awe when I think of that i ower That in thy wild fury could lull thee to rest.
