Useful Hints. To remove iron-mould from linen, rub the spot with a little powdered oxalic acid or salts of lemon and a little warm water. To revive cut flowers after packing, plunge the stems into boiling water, and let them stand in it until it is quite cold. Then take them out, cut the stems afresh, and put in clean cold water (rain-water for preference). To clean white silk, pin on a clean sheet, then take some stale bread-crumbs and mix with a little powder blue. Rub this carefully over the surface with a clean soft handker- chief, and finally give a light shaking. =9===——
