The League. The withdrawal of Colwyn Bay from the League reminds one that a few words on Prestatyn's chances would not be out ol place, and perhaps a few remarks on the games already played would be interesting. Denbigh (the leaders) have played 4 away and 8 home matches, 4 points gained at home and four away. The Guild 8 away and 2 home, 3 points away, 4 at home Victoria 3 at home and 1 away all 5 points being gained at home Abergele 2 away and 4 at home, all 5 points being earned at home Llandudno 4 away and 2 at home, captured 4 points at home Prestatyn 2 away and 1 home, took 2 points at home and 1 away; Ruthin 2 home and 1 away, gained 2 home points. Tims the Guild, Llandudno, and Prestatyn are the only team not to losy a point at homo, whilst the Guild are still undefeated. The chief danger to Prestatyn lies with the two Rhyl teams and Denbigh, but it must be remembered that Denbigh have to1 visit Prestatyn. whilst the Guild have not yet tackled the "Blues" and it is early to say much about Rhyl Victoria as they have played but one out match. So far Rhyl Guild are much the better placed, and if Prestatyn are to top the League 0 they must look lo this toam supplying the danger.

Conway v. Prestatyn.
Conway v. Prestatyn. The protest by Prestatyn against the size of the goalposts in the above match was dis- missed. The defence by Conway was that the posts had sunk 3 inches during one night The association also took this view, and so Prestatyn hwe bid good-bye to the N.W. Junior Cup for this year. The draw for the serai-final was as follows Bangor Swifts v Holyhead, at Bangor Con- way v Greenfield, at Llandudno.

CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS TREE.
CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS TREE. A Picturesque Spectacle. A treat for all the children of Prestatyn, in the form of a grand Christmas Tree, took place in the Town Hall on Thursday, the 18th inst. This Xmas Tree was suggested by Capt. Miller early in December, but owing to sickness, the authorites thought it advis- able for it Dot to be held. However, im- mediately the children became convalescent, the matter was again taken in hand, with the result that it proved a great success, about ;)00 children participating. The hall was tastefully arranged and decorated with bunting, flags, and two immense trees on the platform, lighted with with candles and loaded with presents. In making the arrangements and helping at the entertainment Captain Miller and Mr W. Inglefield were assisted by the following ladies and gentlemen ;—Mrs Thos. Jones, Mrs Thos Williams, Mrs Lloyd Jones, the Misses Lyne, the Misses Miller, Miss Hickson (Senr), Miss Inglefield, Miss Coulthard, Miss Watts, Miss Greenwood, Miss Foden, Mr G. W. Jones and Mr Williams (schoolmasters). The entertainment commenced by each child receiving a bon-bon and cake on entering the Hall. Then some of the children of the National School rendered an action song, followed by Miss Greenwood giving a selection of music on the gramophone. After this came another action song by about thirty of the Council School children, and then the fun of the evening commenced. Captain Miller, attired as- Father Christmas, welcomed the children in a short and cheery address, and then each child ascended the platform and received a box of chocolate or sweets and a toy. When the presentations were over Mr Jones of the Council School proposed a vote of thauks to Captain Miller, Mr Inglofield, and the ladies and gentlemen who had kindly assisted, this was secouded by Mr Williams of the National School in a few well-chosen words, and carried with hearty cheers. Captain Miller responded in the usual manner, and after the National Anthem had been sung, each child was presented with oranges, thus bringing this most successful entertainment to a cloae. H. Jones, Mr Littler, Mr Jones, (Freelands), and Mr J. T. Burrows. The promoters are deeply grateful to the many tradesmen and others who came forward spontaneously and unsolicited, and generously helped to furnish the Xmas Tree with presents that were a source of pleasure to so many of our little ones, who seldom have such a red letter day in their lives.
