J ADIES AND GENTLEMEN.— ij At the request of a large and influential body of Ratepayers, I have consented to contest the seat now held by Lord Dunraven. as a protest against his Lordship's continual neglect of his duties as your Representative, and I beg to solicit the favour of your vote and interest. I am well known to yon all as a heavy rate- paver, and deeply concerned in the welfare of our town. If elected. I pledge myself to attend the Meet- ings of the County Council and its Committees, and to do all in my power to further the interests of Bridgend. I am. Ladies and Gentlemen, Your fellow-townsman. D. Your obedient Servant, EVAN EVANS. Porthcawl. [862 GLAldORGAN COUNTY COUNCIL i ELECTION. j TO THE ELECTORS OF THE LLWYNYPIA AND CLYDACH VALE DIVISION. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— Three years ago you did me the honour of re- turning me at the head of the poll as your joint Representative on the Glamorgan County Council. I venture to hope that my conduct on the said Council has been such as to merit your approval, inasmuch as I invariably supported all Liberal Measures, and in the administrative work of the Council and its Committees I devoted all the tact r.i.d energy that I am possessed of in advocating f necessary improvements and reforms consistent with economy. At two Public Meetings held last week at Clydach Vale and Llwynypia, I was unanimously adopted as the Liberal Candidate to contest the seat J for the above Division at the forthcomg election, March 8th, 1892.. I now ask you to do me the honour of again re- J turning me as your Representative. If elected. I } promise to act in the future as I have done in the past. Soliciting your vote and interest, I remain, « Faithfully vours, J RICHARD LEWIS. Tonypandy. February 17th, 1832. [855 j COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTION, MARCH 8, 1892. | j ———— 1 TO THE ELECTORS OF TRKA.LAW AND TONYPANDY WARD. J ADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— After submitting my name to the Public Meet- ing of the Liberals of the Ward, and believing that I was out-voted from the honour of selection by the Register List, which has now been publicly I admitted by the Chairman (the Rev. E. Richards) as wrong and misleading, I am compelled to enter the contest. > Constitutionally, the promoters of the public meeting should hold a second meeting, arid safe- guard its finality by a Register Test, which will be in force at the Polling Booth, March 8th next. However, since they have elected the inconsis- I tent course, I do not regret it. because the electors can decide the matter at the Booth, which is the highest tribunal. I am well known to yon for the past 27 years, j and. as you are aware. I have always been closely identified with all political, moral, and social movements, having for their object the upheaval advancement and general welfare of the labouring classes. Calumny and abuse will, doubtless, be busy J. against me in the contest, but I am happy in the thought that my Radicalism cannot be denied. My comrades in the political fight for Labour re- g presentation for the Rhondda will bear witness to my unbending loyalty to the Labour party. If elected. I will promise you to attend faith- fully to my duties, and do all in my power to ad- n vocate your interests fearlessly, and will uphold in 11 every practicable way the dignity of the Ward I £ ?hali have the honour to represent. Yours obediently, n T. P. JENKINS. v Tonypr.ni'y.. [8:3 j c Glamorganshire County Council Election. ) TO THE ELECTORS OF THE PONTYPRIDD ELECTORAL DIVISION.
