LIBEKAL REGISTRATION. Important Dates to be observed in Registration of Voters. July 20th.—All owners' claims must reach the Overseers on or before this date. July 25th.-—Lodgers already on register must re- new their claims and deliver same to Overseers before this date. August 12th.—Send to the Agent on or before this date claims for all conservative house- holders or occupiers omitted by the Overseers, so that he may have them examined, and served on the Overseers not later than August 20th. August 12th.-Also send to him a list of persons whether voters, householders, occupiers, or ownership claimants who may be objected to with the ground of objection. August 12th.—Claims of lodgers not, already on the register should reach the Agent before this date. so as to have same examined and served before 20th August. August 20th. Last day for serving notices of objection. REGISTRATION. NOTES for the Guidance of Mem- bers of Liberal Associations and Liberal Electors. The Period of Qualification for Occupiers and Lodgers is One Year, i.r.. twelve months immediately preceding the 15th July in any year and for Freeholders, full possession of the qualifying property for Six Months previous to the 15th July. PARLIAMENTARY ELECTORS. COUNTIES. In order to vote at Parliamentary Elections a person must pcnae^ one or othov of the follow- .i;g qualigofttions 1-As a Householder, he must have lived in the same Parliamentary Division for 12 months pre- ceding the I.-)th July. He may have removed more than one-. but so long as each house occupied is wi:hin the division, he is entitled to the fran- chise. Any person who separately occupies part of a house, thelatidlord not residing on the premises, is entitled to be registered. ° 2.-As a Freeholder, he must have had pos- session for six months of property producing forry shillings rerannum clear of all expenses. 3- As a Leaseholder, he must have held for twelve months previous to the 15th July a lease of property worth i5Q per annum, and originally cre- ated for a term of not less than twenty years; or a lease of property worth ±5 and upwards per annum, and originally created for a term of not less than 6) years. 4-—As aJE13 Occupier, he must have occupied for twelve months some land or tenement of £ 10 clear yearly value. 5.-As a Lodger, he must have occupied rooms in the same house for twelve months. As regards the annual value of the rooms, which is fixed by law at £10. a payment of 4s. a week for unfurnished, or 6¡z. a week for furnished, rooms, is usually accepted as a sufficient indication of value, but a son living at home with his parents may claim, even if no rent is paid, when by agreement with his father he is the sole occupant of a room in the house, and might if he chose lock it up and prevent any other other member of the family from entering. Every man over 21 who has a right to the exclusive use of a room or rooms in his parents' house, should there- fore claim to be put on the register as a lodger. 6.—The Service Fanchise.: Bank Managers. Schoolmasters. Caretakers. Servants, and others who occupy rooms or houses rent free on their emplovers property. are entitled to this franchi,e. provided their employers do not reside on the pre- mises.
