NEWS IN BRIEF. | A block of buildings has been purchased at Rhvl for the purpose of forming a con- valescent home for L. & N.W. Railway men and women. The buildings are near the sea and will accommodate 20 patients. Men from sixteen collieries in Amman Valley, South Wales, are out on strike owing to the employers not having conceded an advance in wages which had been demanded. 5,000 colliers are aftected.
