Well Done, Ffynnongroew. During the Christmas holidays competitors from this district have brought home a fair share of the awards from various eisteddfodau. At Rhyl on Boxing Day, in the mixed choir contest, Ffynnongroew Choir (under the leadership of Mr Lloyd) carried off first prize for their rendering of "Rest, soldier rest." In the chief choral contest for male voices, Ffynnongroew choir (led by Mr J. Spencer) also gave a good account of them- selves, being awarded second prize out of five entries, Penmaeumawr securing the first prize. At the same meeting Mr J. P. Jones, Ffynnongroew, carried off the first prize for a Welsh recitation. At Chester eisteddfod on the same day, Mr R. 0. Williams won the first prize for his rendering of a baritone solo.
