LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— At the request of a namher of R'ectors of ynur Ward I have c insentert to hecme a candidate for election us one of yi-ur Representative* in. My interests wilbyiKS ?re bound up in the prosperitv of th" Town, and bou)tl you do me the honor to elect In'i I shall g"? my h?ty upport to every measure teLùillg t; promote that pr >-perity. I am, I adica and Gentlemen, Your oladient Servant, Gros?enor-r ad? 'V,exh:nn, J. ?"??SY PIERCE Grosvenor-r -a d. Wiexliam, 4:h Feb., ISM DENBIGHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIlT BOROUGH OF WREXHAM. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE SOU rr H W A RD. LAnIER AND GENTLEMF-JT,— I have been requested by influential deputations of ratepayers from two districts to contest an Election for the County Council of Denbighshire. on For two reasons I have selected the honor of soliciting the support of the Burgesses of the Koomuthh Ward of Wrexliam. My first reason in that I desire to acknowledge with sincere thanks the very large majority that vou were good enough to give me 011 a. recent occasion, and which has since, T trust, to my credit equally as to yours, enabled me to hold the high office bestowed upon me. My second reason is that I consider the interests and importance of this Borough in Denbighshire- termed and rightly termed the Metropolis of North Wales"—have not been liberally considered by the present members of the County Council. To place Denbigh and Ruthin as centres of equal importance in this County to that of Wrexham appears almost absurd and as your Mavor it haa been my duty to draw attention to the fact that the Borough of Wrexham has virtually received no relief whatever under the Local Government Act, which was estimated to give relief of £3,100,000 per annum to local taxation, whilst at the same time Wrexham has very largely contributed to the Imperial resources from which such relief was expected. If I again receive your support, I shall devote myself to the administrative and legitimate duties of the County Council generally, to the exclusion of matters outside the practical scope of the Council. whilst I shall especially consider the just claims of the important District of Wrexham, which I contend have not received in the past that consideration they should, and ought to receive in the future. I remain, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your faithful Servant, FREDERIC W. SOAMES. Llwvn Onn Hall, 6th February, 1892. 373c DENBIGHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE EAST W A R D OF THE BOROUGH OF WREXHAM. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— I thank you for the confidence you have reposed in me for the past three years, and beg respectfully to offer myself for re-election. I have represented you in local matters for 14 years, and it has always been my aim to promote your interests in the most efficient manner and if you will do me the honor to again return me as your representative in the County Council, my conduct in the past is a guarantee of what will be my course of action in the future, viz., a close attention to the interests of the borough, whereby I may merit the confidence you have so long reposed in me. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your obedient servant, WILLIAM EDGE SAMUEL. Stratford House, Wrexham, Feb. 11th, 1892. 349z TO THE COUNTY ELECTORS OF THE 8 TAN STY AND ACTON ELECTORAL DIVISION. LADIES AXD GENTLEMEN, Having been your representative during the last three years in the first County Council for Denbigh- shire, my services are at your disposal should you again think proper to elect me. Your judgment, I believe, will be that, on the whole, your County affairs have been carefully and efficiently administered. Thanking you for having returned me unopposed on the previous occasion, I am, Ladies and Gentlemen. Yours faithfully, 353f R. A. CUNLIFFE. COUNTY COUNCIL OF DENBIGH. TO THE ELECTRESSES AND ELECTORS OF THE MARCHWIEL DIVISION, Which comprises the Townships of EYTON, SESSWICK, PICKHILL, ROYTON, ABENBURY FA WH, AND MARCIIWIEL. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— It is a source of great regret to me that a change in my place of residence prevented me from fulfilling those duties in the County Council of Denbigh, which by your favor I had been elected to perform. In taking my leave of you, I trust you will allow me, with great respect, to wish you one and all every prosperity. I beg to assure you that I shall always be grateful for the confidence you reposed in me. I am, Your obedient Servant, ARCHIBALD PEEL, February 10th, 1892, Westlea, Broxbourne. 354n DENBIGHSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CEFN MAWR POLLING DIVISION. LADIES AXD GENTLEMEN,— Upon the unanimous invitation of the Cefn and District Liberal Association, and at the request of a. large and influential body of ratepayers, I have con- sented to offer myself as a candidate for a. seat upon the above Council. As a. native of the district, who has spent the greater part of his life in your midst, I am thoroughly acquainted with the needs and requirements of the division. As a Welshman, I am in touch and sympathy with the national sentiment of Wales. As a workman, my interest and yours are identical; we share the same burdens, and enjov the same privileges; I shall support, if elected, the present policy of the Council, which has saved to the rate- payers the sum of £1,700 per annum 011 the main roads alone, and do my utmost to extend this economy to other departments, and secure the best adminis- tration at the lowest possible cost. As a citizen, I am deeply interested in educational matters, allotments, the rivers, &c., etc.. and can be relied upon to take part in carrying out these measures to your entire satisfaction. Finally, as one of vourselves, I shall always be accessible to you, and be prepared to give expression to your views in the Council, if favored with your confidence. I remain. Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours very obediently, THOMAS SAUVAGE. Fair View House, Cefn, Ruabon. 334o DENBIGHSHIRE COUNY COUNCIL. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CEFN MAWR POLLING DIVISION. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, The term of office to which you did me the honor to elect me three years a.go as your first representative upon the County Council has expired. Acting upon what I believe to be a generally ex- pressed wish. I beg to offer myself for re-election, and do So upon strictly non-political grounds, as I have, and still consider, that politics should be ngldly excluded from all County Council proceedings. There- fore I ask for the support of all parties, which I grate- fully acknowledge to have received at the last election. During the past three years I have attended, with few unavoidable exceptions, all the meetings of the Council and committees upon which I was placed, and trust that the time spent in their deliberations has not been without its result, and that that result has met with your approval. Believing, as 1 do, that I can further your interests, which are in every way identical with my own. in the future as I trust 1 have done in the past. I venture to ask you to again honor me with your confidence, and to elect me as your member on the new Council. I am. Yours faithfully, J. C. EDWARDS Trevor Hall, Febrnnvy 6th, 1892. JJZa.
