■4 On Saturday as a wagon and horses were crossing the Eastern Counties Railway, which passes through Nfr. Garrad's farm, a train ran them down, smashing the wagon and dreadfully mutilating the horses. The drivet had a narrow escape. As he jumped from the wagon the engine caught his coat tails and tore them off. On Monday the 9,30 train from London to on the North Kent Railway, ran off the line nearCharlion in consequence of the crank axle of the engine breaking, Fortunately none of the passengers were injured. THE NEW ASSIZE COURTS AT LIVERPOOL.—The scaf. folding has been removed from the south end of St. George's Hall, and the beautiful sculptured figure) 011 the pediment of the building are now exhibited to the public gaze. A CHILD BURNT TO DEATH AT HEKLLAM, SEAR DEN- BIGH.—A shocking, distressing, and fatal accittent hap. peneil to a poor little boy eight years old, on the afternoon of Thursday, the 29th ult., at a neighbour's house iti the village of Henllan. The deceased was a SIHl to Mr. Th Price, the parish clerk of Henllan, and below are brie?j narrated the particulars of this unfortunate accident, detailed at the inquest, which was held before Evaa Pierce, Esq., M.D., coroner. It was given in evidence that the deceased was left in the care of his sister, who is his senior, by the mother, who had occasion to go to the Denbigh Infirmary for medical advise and medicine for hemelf-beiiig an invalid. Soon after her departure the boy went out to play with some neighbouring children, and went into a house in the village with two or three other boys and girls about the same age. After entering the house, it appeared that one of the children locked the door for the purpose, as it was said, of preventing others who were outside of gaining access to them, and the key was taken out of the door and placed in some part of the house for safety. During their play about the fire the clothe of the deceased caught in the flames, and the tire rapidly extended over the whole of his apparel; upou which one of the children instantly went in search of water into the back kitchen wherewith to extinguish the flames; but not succeeding, hurried to the door, which was as before stated, locked-aiid the key had been placed where, in the hurry and alarm of danger, had been for- gotten upon which, one of the children ran up stairs and gave the alarm of fire through the window, and as soon as could reasonably be expected, a man who lived close by burst open the door, and rendered all possible assistance in extinguishing the flames upon the poor sufferer. Dr. Tumour, of Denbigh, was called in attendance, and gave every possible attention to the suffering little fellow, who, we regret to say, expired before morning. PHOTOGRAPHIC AND SILHOUETTE MIMIATURES. TAKEN BY MR. SHARP, FROM LONDON, VISITER OFFICE, RUYL. In a few Seconds, Pictures are produced by that mysterious agent—LIGHT—with all the Natural Colours of Life warranted permanent, and second to no other taken in this or any other Country. THESE charming PICTURES have the Perfection and Finish to which the most eminent Artist in the world could never attain. Great pains have been taken to bring this Art to such perfection. The Public cannot but appreciate the value of these Miniatures, in comparison with the miserable Daguerreotypes commonly done. Portraits taken for Lockets, Brooches, and Rings Miniatures, Family Paintings and Engravings accurately copied, and Studies executed for Artist .opied.?? a Daguerreotype Portrait, White and Light Blue Colours should be avoided. Dark Dress, Silk or Satin, L?ce, &c., add much to the beauty of the Picture. Open fiom Ten in the Morning ur.til Dusk, at Mr. SHARP S, RHYL VISITEB OFFICE. TESTIMONIALS. Rhyl, July 12th, 1818. Havine during my stay at Rhyl, detected many faithful Likenesses of Staffordshire and Cheshire Friends, amongst Mr. Sharp's Collection of Likenesses, I am induced to recommend him to any Lady or Gentleman wish- ing to secure an exact Portrait. I can speak experimentally of his success with the Daguerreotype Instrument. M. GAUT, Highnems, near Leek, Staffordshire. Rhyl, July 17th, 1818. I think Mr. Sharp a most clever Artist. He has taken most excellent Likenesses of all my family. Nothing can exceed his patience with children, and his anxiety to give every satisfaction to his employers. I most sin- cerely wish him the success he so thoroughly deserves. J. R. OWEN, Incumbenl of Rhyl. Cambridge, April 4th, 1819. I beg to assure any one that may read this, that Mr. Sharp is not at all a common Photographer Miniature Painter. His system is quite new, and infinitely superior in its effect to any thing I have ever seen of the kind. The accuracy of impression he can give, and the living expression which he ads by a very skilful process of colouring, produce a most perfect, and at the same time a phasing likeness. I can very strongly recommend Mr. Sharp for his extraordinary success. Sharp for his extraordinary success. J. ROWLANDS, Fellow of Q„ ueen s College. Rhyl, 18th Sept., 1849. I have the greatest satisfaction in testifying to the excellence of Mr. Sharp's Daguerreotype Portraits. By his great pains-taking and good taste, I am possessed of the truest Likenesses of members of my family, and *bal be very glad if this my additional testimony to his meritorious effects should be instrumental in increasing Ut, eeployment of an Artist who will ner have strong claims upon my best wishes for his prosperity.
