THE PEKGWERN-HALL ESTATE, A MOST IMPORTANT FREEHOLD LANDED PROPERTY, In the far-famed Vale of Llangollen, containing in the whole nearly 2,000 acres. Al R. LEIFCHILD has received instructions to lU. SELL by public AUCTION, at the Royal Hotel, Llangollen, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, the 25th, 20th, and 27th days of October, at 1 for 2 precisely each day, in numerous lots, that well-known and highly important property, the PENGWERN- HALL ESTATE, comprising, with a trifling excep- tion, one entire township, situate in the selectest part of the romantic and highly cultivated Vale of Llan- gollen, in immediate proximity with Plas Newydd and the exquisite scenery of the Dee, and commanding the finest views of Castle Dinas Bran, the oldest Castle in Wales, the magnificent ruins of the celebrated Valle Crucis Abbey, with the Berwyn Mountains, and the magnificent range of limestone rocks for which this locality is remarkable. Pengwern Hall is on the site of an ancient palace, occupied in former days by Tudor Trevor, the Welsh Prince, who flourished A.D. 924, and a part of the building is formed of a curious crypt, of It date anterior to that period. The estate is within 10 minutes' walk of the town, which is abundantly supplied with all articles of comsumption at very moderate prices, and English service is performed at the church. The Llan- goilen-road Railway Station is only four miles distant, and coaches and omnibuses go daily from the hotels to meet the ti-ains and in summer a boat plies upon the canal four times a day for passeng* rs to and from the station, forming one of the most delightful and picturesque journeys which can be well conceived. Thus Chester or Shrewsbury may be reached from there in an hour, Liverpool in two hours, and London in seven hours. A large portion of the estate is laid out for the erec- tion of villa residences, for which it presents such un- rivalled attractions, not only from the beauty of its scenery, but from the great facilities afforded for its subdivision into small properties by the township roads which intersect it. A mountain stream runs through the valley, which contains also some beautiful springs of excellent water. To several of the lots will be added II portion of the beautiful hanging wood which crowns the hill, an invaluable appendage to the pro- posed residences, while to others are given portions of the hill land, which besides being highly ornamental, may be cultivted to the greatst advantage. The building sites being fixed upon the sloping &?round, not only secure the best aspects, but embrace a snc- cession of picturesque scenes of surpassing interest and beauty. The various farms belonging to the estate are situate near the town of Llangollen, aud are surrounded by handsome enclosures of excellent meadow, pasture, and arable land, with good farm- houses and the necessary agricultural buildings. Taken as a whole, the above property, from its striking pe- culiarities, may be justly regarded as one of the rarest in the Principality, ari(1' oflers to the purchaser an op- portunity that can never occur again. Full descriptive particulars, with lithographed maps and engravings, showing the situation of each lot and its cotitc-ms, may be had on application to Messrs. Westmacott, Blake, and Blake, solicitors, John-street, Bedford-row, London; Messrs. Newman and Lyon, solicitors, Yeovil Messrs. Having, during my stay at Rhyl, detected many faithful Likenesses, of Staffordshire and Cheshire Friends, amongst Mr. Shai p's Collection of Likenesses, I am induced to recommend him to any Lady or Gentleman wishing to secure an exact Portrait. I can speak experimentally of his success with the Uaguerreiotype Instrument. M. GAUNT, Highfields, near Leeek, Staffordshire. Rhyl. July 17th, 1848. I th nk Mr. Sharp a most clever Artist. He has taken most excellent Likenesses of all my family. Nothingican exceed his patience with children, and his anxiety to give every satisfaction to his employers, I most sncerely wish him the success he so thoroughly deserves.-J. R. O WEN, Incumbent of Rhyl. [ Cambridge, April 4th, 1849. I beg to assure any one that may read this, that Mr. Sharp is not at all a common Photographer Miniature Painter. His system is quite new. and infinitely superior in its eflect to anything I have ever seen of the kind. The accuracy of impression he can give, and the Hoing expression which he adds by a very skilful process of colouring, produce a most perfect, and at the same time a pleasing likeness. I can very strongly recommend Mr. Sharp for his extraordinary success. J. ROWLANDS, Fellow of Queen's College. Rhyl, 18th Sept., 1849. I have have greatest satisfaction in testifying to the excellence of Mr. Sharp's Daguerreotype Por- traits. By his "wreat painstaking and good taste, I am possessed of the truest Likenesses of members of I' 'ny family, and shall be very glad if this my additional testimony to his meritorious efforts should be instrumental in increasing the employment of an Artist who will ever have strong claims upon my best wishes for his prosperity GEORGE A.
