Llangefni, October 6, 1853. fctangor Annual Regatta, 1833. AT a Committee Meeting held on SATURDAY, for A the settlement of accounts, &c., it was resolved 1. That the thanks of the Committee be returned for the kind patronage and liberal support extended to the Regatta this year. They exceedingly regret that the unfavourable state of the weather prevented many from witnessing the sports, which were on the whole very satisfactory. 2. That the accounts having been gone into and settled, the balance should be placed in the Treasurer's hands for the following year. 3. That in comparing the present Regatta with that of last year they cannot help expressing satisfaction in their progress, from which they are led to hope that a beginning having been made, and the affair now established as annual, a further advancement will take place next year over the present. Looking at the fine open space at this end of the Straits, end its capability for yacht sailing, they are of opinion that exertions should be made to induce owners of yachts toCf.¡1I18 to this port; they therefore call upon the inhabitant* ttl aid them next year, that by offering suitable prizes they may attain this end. 4. That they cannot help noticing the amicable mauner in which the present Regatta has taken place -no protest having been entered, no case of quarrel- ing having come to their knowledge, and the behaviour of the boatmen on the whole being highly commendable. 5. That ill taking leave of their friends for the pre- sent year they do so with the assurance that when they call upon them again at an early part of next season, the call will be responded to with the same good will that has characterized the present. Signed by order of the Committee. JOHN HUGHES, HOD, See, Liaiadudaio Improvements. GREAT ORME'S HEAD. VANCE OF THE SEVENTH DAY. IT is universally admitted, Tnat at the creation of the world, Almighty God blessed and sanctified the Sevetith Day;" tins He did, without exemption of any Natio or limitation to any time; the command, therefore, is universal and imperative. It is asserted, That though our Blessed Lord or His Apostles are not recorded in Holy Scripture to have commanded, yet the Apostles and first Chris- tians, in addition to their observance of the Seventh Day as a Sabbath, are recorded to have observed a Second Day in each week as a day tor assembling together for Religious purposes, namely, The First Day of the week; and lurther, it is asserted, That this day in Holy Scripture is called The Lord's Day. This is all that Holy Scripture does, or is asserted to record on this subject; and as our enquiry has relation to a command of God, we cannot give heed unto Tradition, without incurring our Blessed Lord's condemnation of the men of His time, seeing he con- demned them, not for any fallacy in the argument they had cons tructed; but for the impiety of con- structing any argument on Tradition, to change any command of God. See St. Mark 7-13, It therefore appears, That there is no authority for the Non-observauce of the Seventh Day, above Dog- matic Teaching; or, The Edict of a Living Infallible Head. May Almighty God grant us to consider, Whether if the Non-observance of the Seventh Day is not preached by St. Paul, and where it is preached by him? we are not cursed by the apostles, if we so Preach, even though we claim to have powera equal to the Angels oj Heaven.
