Iriip motor fire brigade under Inspector Erans were very soon oil the wne, and iound the building, a garags belonging to Mr. Httggins, well alight. Two standpipes •Were put up. and a good supply of wafer through two lengths of hose was played on the building, with the result that just o few minutes after two o'clock the fire 'Was extinguished. Inside the garage was a Ford taxi-cab belonging to Mr. Itennis Murphy, of flyne-Mor, Garden City, which was practically burnt; out. It was luckily insured. Ifopkinstown, Aitiman- 1ord, died at one o'clock on Monday morning as a result of injuries by scald- ing on Wednesday, the 12th inst. It appears that the children were play- ing in the kitchen, and this little one, who was about: two years and nine months, ran into the back kitchen, where 1 a bucket of boiling water had been taken I from the tire. The sister heard scream- ing, and going into the kitchen found the bucket overturned and the child lying in the water. He was attended to bj Drs. Price and Lewis.
