I The Swansea Town Shimming Club jjala at the Baths on Thursday night was a decided success, a few of the events being highly exciting, and particularly good finishes were witnessed in tho chief events. The piece de resistance was a polo match between the Swansea Town tirst Team and Penarth, and it was antkl- patd in some quarters that the visitors, having defeated Newport &) handsomely by seven goals, would give the home team iN a i6 n-i tIruc. SPORTS AT HALFWAY. Attractive Week-end Programme. This *Msoa Llanelly has provided more sport than any other town in the Princi- pality. Half a dozen meetings, with prizes amounting roughly to EI,000, have been held at Halfway Park. On Saturday next, &nd also on Monday, there will be an attractive programme, including a J £ 25 eprint on the Saturday; also trotting, galloway and whippet racing. The charge for admission is only 13. 3d., liS compared with 26. 4d. at other meeting8 with shorter programmes. On August 16th there will fee a boxing tournament, Sammy. Lane meeting Idrif- Jones, and on September 17th. a f,50 sprint and 950 galloway.

BUYING A CAR. Llanstephan Man Sued for Breach of Contract. The prevailing keen demand for motor cars was manifested in a case before his Honour Judge Iloyd Morgan. K.C., at Carmarthen County Court on Thursday, when Benjamin Jere-my, cycle and motor engineer, Water-street, Carmarthen, eued Gritlith Jones, Castle Hotel, Llanst.eiphan, for .£50 damages for loss of contract. Mr. T. Howell Davies was for plaintiff, and Mr. W. J. Wallis-Jones for defendant. Plaintiff alleged that on the INh JunA defendant at LlaDstephan agreed to eell him a: eecond-hand Ford car tor .£215.
