Mrs. Tuckier, of 13, Ohilayte-streot, I Oadoxton-Barry, ha4s been informed that her husband, CompanySergeant- Major Arthur Tucker, 11th Welsh (Cardiff Pals) Regiment, has been awarded the distinguished conduct medal for coiuspictiouis bravefry during a raid on the enemy trenches in the iBalkans. For bravery on the same oc- casion an officer was awarded the mili- tary cross, and two men the military medial. Oompany-Sergt.-Major Tucker, who is a son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. William Mogg, 149, Gladstone-road, Barry Docks; served through the South African campaign in the 2nd East Sur- sreys, and his soldier's blood forced him to re-enlist in the present war at the first available opportunity, in Sep- tember, 1914. Previous to being drafted to Salonika, the gal-lant soldier served in Franca and has been on active ser- vice far fifteen months. Mrs. Tucker and three children reside at 13, Qhil- uxbo-etreet, Oadoxton-Barry. *>

G.F.S. CONCERT AT ST. MARY'S HALL. 1 A miscellaneous concert, of choruses, recitations, dinloguep, and dance, was very creditably performed by members of G.F.S., at St. Mary's Hall, Barry Docks, on Wednesday evening last. Miss Ena Rees pleasingly presided, and the per- formers did their pavts very effectively. The sketch, "Wanted a Governess." pro- vided mirth and laughter to the audience, and reflected great credit upon Mrs. Longdon and Miss Longdon, who were responsible for the training. There was a good attendance, and aH appreciated the efforts of th4 young members of the Church. Miss Dorothy Llewellyn was thp, accompanist.

1ST BATTALION GLAMORGAN VOLUNTEER REGIMENT. A Detachment of the above Battalion has commenced Drilling at the R.G.A. Drill Hall, Bassett-street, Barry Docks. Men over military age, and those hold- ing exemption certificates, are requested to attend parade on Monday next, at 730pm. The Battalion is now undertaking guard duties at several vulnerable local points, thus relieving Regulars for more I important work.
