As a result of the address, a large number of. new members was en- rolled. The Swansea Grammar School Rugby team played the boys of the Yistal-yiera County School at St. Helen's, on Satur- day. A good game resulted in a win for the Grammarians by 10 points to six. In our list of Council nominations we put four papers opposite the name of Mr. Wm. Rees, a candidate for Penderry Ward, whereas it should have been 14 papers. Anniversary service6 were held at St. Stephen's Church, Port Tennant, on Sun- day, the preachers being the Rev. D. C. liees (Kilvey) and Rev. W. J. Thomas (Aianselton). The iThree B'6 Concert Party gave an entertainment at Tawe Lodge on Satur- day, the orgallisers be in" Messrs. R. R. Williams and D. Williams.

TONNA. The death has taken place -of Mr. Wm. Matthews, Maei-y-lilan, Tonna. He was a well-known and highly-respected gentle- man. and his sudden demise came ae a great shock to all the inhabitantb of Tonna and district. He was one of the founders of Nazareth C.M., Tonna. and spent over 37 years in the juvenile depart- ment in the Sunday school. The burial took piece at loreit C.M.. Aberdulais.

MYNYDDBACH. On Sunday evening ot Mynyddbach Chapel the service was devoted to the memory of Pte. Thomas Jno. Cole, a mem- of Mynyddbach Charel, who fell in action hi France about two months ago. The Rev. James Da vies, in the. course of an eloquent sermon made touching references to the memory of young Cole, dwelling on his pure character and selMacpifice, and expressing the deepest sympathy with the rowing family. BR STON FERRY. A whist drive, organised for the funds of the Red Cross Society, Britonferry, was held at the Public Hall, on Friday evening, and well attended. Mr. D. S. Thomas acted as M.C., and there was a keen competition for the'splendid prizes. The first prize at the Red Cross whist drive at Britonferry was a live nanny goat, and was won by a discharged sol- diftr, Mr. J. burnm.) Dr. J. T.
