The predominating feature of the show vas the quality of the exhibits, and the leading prize-winners at Cardigan, Tregaron, Talybont, and some from the Welsh National vied with each other in the competitions. The catalogue contained 546 entries, and al- though the live stock were up to tILo usual number, the vegetables showed a decline, this being only a matter of minor import- ance with the Society. Black cattle were represented by thirty-seven entries, and the champion shown by Mm. Evans, Maesn y- nach was this year beaten by "King of the Ulaeks'' a three year old bull, property of the U.O.W., Aberystwyth, whilst Mrs. Ev- ans took first and reserve in champion class for a cow. Coloured cattle made a very fine exhibition, and according to the judge some were fit to be shown at larger shows. Sil- ver Cup a four year old shorthorn, owned by the TJ.C.W., was of a very good char- acter, took first in the class over two years old, "Rollestone Fame" a vouiiger exhibit ehawn by Mr. R. S. Rowland making a gocd second. Bulls under two years old made a moderate class, and here "Duke of Clarence" born in January last brought its owner. Mr. J. Lloyd Morgan, Rhiwfelen—the pre- mier prize. "Teify Swell" another ex- hibit from Garth being second. "A most splendid beast" was the verdict of the judge upon the bull under 12 months, old, shown by Mr. Edward Jones, Pontfaen, end it took the first prize easily. After judg- ing the whole coloured cattle the judge re- marked that he was greatly surprised to see such good beasts in this locality.
