DEATH OF A CRIMEAN HEROINE. Mr. C. C. Lavis, the coroner for South Essex, has held an inquest touching the death of Elizabeth Vickery, aged öü, an army pensioner. Joseph Page V i-kery, a stevedore's labourer, said the deceased was his stepmother, her husband, John Macintosh Pickery, now being an inmate of the county lunatic ylurn. The deceased went through the Crimean war with her husband, Robert Patrick, a private ia the Coldstream Guards. The deceased up to her received a pension on this account of 2s. fjd. a The jury returned a verdict of death from io''ural causes. In reply to the coroner, lr. "Vickery so1 1 that the deceased was a Londoner, and on the c orner remarking that she looked older than Ctj, he c Jained that that probably arose through the tl bl.-s she had gone through.
