has acquired substance, and reality, which it never J had before, we repeat that we rejoice to see every concession made to the present French Ministry, not incompatible with the honour of England, and the aettlement of affairs in the East. The absurd attempt to implicate the British Go- vernment in the insane proceedings of Prince Loui has not received the slightest countenance from the respectable portion of the French Press. Men must be silly indeed to tolerate such attempts to practise upon their credulity, and, (as the Tim s justly observes) if these monstrous lies continue to be swal- lowed bv our neighbours, we shall soon lose all right to call ourselves the most gullible nation in the world.
