Domestic Squabbles at Maerdy. A HUSBAND WHO WANTED NEW CLOTHES. PAINFUL BEDROOM SCENE. Mary Jenkins, a married woman residing at Maerdy, appeared before the Porth magistrates on Thursday to tell a tale of how she had been assaulted by her husband, Rees, on Saturday. the 18th ult. It appears that defendant came home on Saturday night, and asked his wife if she had bought him some new clothes. She re- plied that she had not, as he had not given her sufficient money. The defendant then threw a saucer at her, which struck her on the back between her shoulders. She and her daughter then went to bed. About 3.30 a.m. defendant came to bed and struck her twice, and assaulted her badly. Mother and daughter were com- pelled to leave the room undressed. The Stipendiary ordered a warrant to be issued for the apprehension of the defendant.
