I presume, a wish to he informed what has become of the money subscribed for i:s erection. As I am the man who suggested this scientific Institu. tion, in a printed address to the public, and took upon myself the responsibility, in conjunction with M r Thomas, of Ynyngharad, and others, to carry it into effect, .1 feel great pleasure in rendering a statement of what has been done towards accomplishing this, object, to an en- quirer, and the public generally, through the columns of the Guardian. We,bave not been so successful in this undertaking as we-might havebei'n. either for wantofahility or leisure, or influence. in me, to inspire a love of themselves in the privileged classes, or, for want of that sympathy to them called benevolcnoe, to be inspired with that sert of feeling in civilized society that commands one to respeoi himself that his neighbeurs may respect him.
