Secretary (pro tem ) -Charles Terry. Esq. rpHE Indisputable Testimonials given by men of t the first talent and experience in ihe kingdom, as to the perfect reliance that may he placed upon KYAN'S PROCESS of PREPARING TIMBEH to resist the i effect of DRY ROT and other Decay, are so entirely satisfactory as to require no further remark. The efficacy of the Process is sufficiently established by the Evidence contained in the Report to the Lords of the Admiralty, and subsequently presented to, and printed by the House of Commons and likewise by the adoption of it by his Majesty's Government in Portsmouth Dock Yard. Extracts from Minutes of Evidence reported by the Com- missioners appointed by the Admiralty, and presented to the House of Commons, July 9, 18;15. SIR R. SMIRKE.—-This Preparation of Mr Kyan's resists all Rot. 1 I CANNOT RoT IT,"—added Sir R. Smirke. PROFESSOR FARADAY.-lo These reasons, combined with a close examination of specimens shewn him, make him strongly recommend it and he would be quite wil- ling, if there were occasion, to trust a good deal of pro- perty upon it." SIR JOHN MAY.—"In regard to the Canvass, four prepared pieces were not affected with Mildew; three un prepared pieces were affected with it, and one of them was quite rotten." By the use of this Process, BRITISH AMERICAN TiMBEft will be rendered equally as valuable as Timber from the Baltic; and thus the produce of BRITISH COLONIES will be encouraged in preference to Timber of Foreign Growth. It is found that Timber cut down while in a state of active vegetation, with the leaf growin2, becomes, by the application of tliis Process, immediately fit for use; thus rendering every species of DOMESTIC TI M BEll of the same value and as available as the best Foreign, for all purposes incidental to Farming and Husbandry"; and, by the use of the most common Woods, economy will be combined with durability, and the AGRICULTURAL INTEREST will derive incalculable advantages. These facts having been proved in the most satisfac- tory manner. it is proposed that a COMPANY be formed, under a Licence from the Patentees, the consideration for which has been agreed upon, and the above Gentlemen have been named to carry that object into effect. Jsill^ 3H To Emigrants and Shippers- The undersigned despatches Goods and Passengers ON THE MOST REASONABLE TERMS TO ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD. TOtMEWWM and other Ports in the United Stales three times monthly. TO THE BRITISH SETTLEMENTS IN NORTH AMERICA every fortnight during the season. TO THE EAST AND WEST INDIAS about every ten days. TO THE CAPE OF GOOD HOPE, Van Dieman's Land, and New South Wales, about every six weeks, &c. See. Emigrants and Shippers may rely on the vessels em- ployed being of the best description and fitted with every convenience conducive to comlort ana safety. And as he aims at obtaining the good opinion and favourable report of every individual who employs him, he earnestly entreats Emigrants not to leave their homes until they have se- cured thci r passages and received notice appointing a time for their arrival in Liverpool, as by this means their tickets of admission will be entrusted to curef ul attendants who will conduct them to their vessels and protect them from the impositions of those worthless characters who are in wait- ing at every landing place to entrap and deceive strangers. When the attendants, with the tickets of admission, are not in waiting, the Emigrants are recommended to hire a Car to brins; the ILSelve., and their luggage direct to the office, and above all to avoid taking advice Or assistance from Strangers, otherwise in all probability they wi 1 be deceived and plundered. In aiming at obtaining a continuance of the preference which he has so loiigenioyed, and of preserving his Erni gration business on the most respectable and satisfactory footing, the undersigned, while he urges compliance with the above recommendation, ctaves reference to the follow ing Testimonials, selected almost at random from several hundreds in his possession. SIRHOWY TRAM-ROAD SHARES, dFor Sale Iro ZiUCtiOll, At the COMMERCIAL ROOMS, in the Citv of lHUS- TOL, 011 WEDNESDAY, tl.c 13th day of JANUARY, 11'36, at One o'Clock in the Afternoon, precisely, (un. less previously disposed of by PRIVATE CON- TRACT, of which due notice will be given), 27 SHARES IN THE SIRHOWY TRAM-ROAD, In such Lots as may be agreed upon at the time of Sale. 11111E SIRHOWY TitÄM-ROAD COMPANY was Incorporated by Act of Parliament 42tid George III., cap. 115, for the purpose of making the above-mentioned Train-road. The whole undertaking was divided into 300 S,ares. at £100 each, which covered the expenditure- and the dividends paid upon the several Shares, since the Ro.-td was completed, to the present time, have averaged no le-s than :C[4 3s. 0d. per Sharp, per Annum. The dividends for the last three years, not- withstanding a heavy expenditure, occasioned by relaying the Road with new plates, of greater substance than the former ones, have respectively amounted to £10, El I. and A:12 per Share, per Annum. The locality of the Road, and the privileges secured by the Act of Incorporation, insure a permanent traffic upon the Road. Hitherto its trade lias been progressively increasing and the recent opening of some very exten- sive Collieries at Tredegar, and the contemplated opening of others, whose produce, in its way to the Newport Market. MUST be conveyed for many miles over this line of Road, justify a confident expectation of a largely in- creased traffic on the Road, and a ptoportionably increased dividend amongst the Share owners. Never, previously, were any of the Shares in the Sirhowy Tram road offered for Public Sale the security of the investment and the large dividends having induced ALL the original Subscribers to the undertaking, and their respective legal representatives, to retain their several Shares therein. These circumstances preclude all re- ference to the Share Lists of the day. for the market price or value of the Shares. The foregoing fac s will, it is apprehended, afford ample criteria of their value to every enquirer, and render further observation, on that head, unnecessary. It may. however, be sta-ed that the suin of £ 4.300 was many years since, advanced upon Mortgage of twenty Shares in this I ram-road, and that £ 4.000 still remain outstanding on that security. For further Particulars, and to treat f, ,r purchase of the whole or any part of the Shares, apply by letter (post paid) to FREDERICK WEBB, Solicitor, Newport, Monmouthshire. Leach's Royal Zest.
