The North Wales Black Cattle Society. The annual meeting of this society was held at the Queen Hotel, Chester, on Monday, the 20th instant, when there were present:—Colonel C. S. Mainwaring (in the chair). Major S. Sandbach, Colonel Platt, Messrs Thomas Roberts, Aber: F A. Walker Jones, Little Mollington W. R. Law- ford, Oswestry and W. A Dew, hon. secretary. Letters of apology for non-attendance were read from Lord Harlech, Colonel McCorquodale, Messrs R. M. Greaves, John Williams, Gwernhefin, Bala; H.R. Heap, Ciltalgrath, Bala; R. B. Smith, Ty- newydd, Bangor; Griffith Roberts, Bodvel Hall, Pwllheli; John Jones, Llandudno and Thomas Prichard, Llwydiarth Efgob. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. The statement of accounts up to December 31st 1892, was adopted. It will no doubt be gratifying to the breeders of Welsh cattle to know that, through the good offices of Lord Harlech, the North Wales Black Cattle Society will be honoured this year with the presidency of H.R.H. Prince of Wales, and that H.B.H. hopes to show his practical interest in the society by presiding at a meeting of its members to be held at Chester on one of the days of the Royal Agricultural Show there in Jane next. On the motion of Colonel Platt, seconded by Major Sandbach, it was resolved that the best thanks of tho members of the North Wales Black Cattle Society be tendered to H.R H. the Prince of Wales, for the signal honour conferred upon the society by his acceptance of the presidency this year, and that Lord Harlech be kindly asked to intimate this to H.R.H. Major S. Sandbach was re-elected vice-presi- dent. Mr W. A. Dew was re-elected hon sco; and editor. Mr James Smith, Old Bank, Bangor was elected auditor. The vacancies on the Executive Council were filled by the election of thefollowinggeDtlemen :— Hon. F. G. Wynne, Messrs C. F. Priestley, R. M. Greaves, Thomas Roberts, R. B. Smith, Humphrey Ellis, and J. R. Jones. It was announced that in addition to the various money prizes amounting to jE180 offered in the Welsh cattle classes by the Royal Agri cultural Society at this year's Chester Show, the local committee offer two champion cups of the value of twenty guineas each for the best male and the best female animal exhibited in the Welsh classes, and a vote of thanks was accorded the Chester Local Committee for same. It was also announced that the North Wales Black Cattle Society had undertaken to find £35 towards the special prizes given. It was resolved that steps be now taken to pre- pare for the fifth volume of the Herd Book, entries tor which are now being received. The Hon. F. G. Wynne, G'ynllifon, and Mr Owen Jones, Tymawr, Bodafon, Llanercbymedd, were elected members of the society. A cordial vote of thanks to Colonel Mainwaring for presiding concluded the meeting. TREMEIRCHION. A very successful concert was given last evening in the C.M. chapel in aid of the organ fund. The chapel was crowded by an appreciative audience, Mr W. Owen presiding, in the unavoidable absence of Mr Ralli. In addition to the Bethel United Choral Society, Rhyl, which rendered its various pieces with much effect, the following contributed towards the evening's enjoyment: — Miss Sallie Jones, Rhyl, Miss Roberts, Mold, Messrs T. Bart- ley and T. R. Jones, Denbigh, aud Master Roberts, Mold, a little lad of seven summers, who sang with much effect. The accompanists were Miss Katie Jones, Rhyl, and Miss Roberts, Mold, and it is unnecessary to say that both rendered great assis- tance. The choir was, as usual, ably conducted by Mr J. Jones (Glasalaw). Votes of thanks aud Hen Wlad fy Nhadau closed the meeting.
