THE HEART OF THE CAR IS THE…
THE HEART OF THE CAR IS THE ENGINE. An Engine that is guaranteed to give the lowest running cost and tho highest degree of efficiency is, in these days of increased cost of petrol and oil, a proposition that neither the motor industry nor the individual owner of a car can afford to overlook. Such an engine suitable for all types of car is now being produced in mass quantities by Messrs. Dorman, the well-known Internal Combustion Engine Designers and Builders, of Stafford, who are working on the principles of standardisation, specialisation, and interchangcability. Thus, every part is interchangeable and a further striking and particularly strong feature is the sim- plicity of and the accessibility to every working part. Incidentally, it is interesting to note that Dormans of Stafford are the firm who, during the war, were working for the Government in not only producing engines for the lorries and Light Railways at the front but also in producing under tho seal of the strictest secrecy the C.C. Interrupter Gear wbidl did so much to assist us to gain our supremacy in the air by enabling the machine gun mounted on an aeroplane to fire actually between the propeller blades. These gears were produced in large quantities every week for our fighting airmen by Messrs. Dormans. Dormans have now issued a booklet which has been written for them by one of the leading experts in the country on Internal Combustion Engines and which will be of great value to all who are inter- ested in the Motor Industry whether as individuals or manufacturers. It is now possible to re-engine any old car with a Dorman Engine and any garage in the country caa supply a Dorman Engine for this purpose while at the same time supply- ing the maker's guarantee that this engine is the last word in Internal Combustion Engine production in tho United Kingdom. We understand that this booklet is sent post free to any applicant by Messrs. W. H. Dorman & Co., Ltd., of Stafford. a- -4
