TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD. DEAR SIR OR MADAM,— I have the honour to miorm you that it is my intention to seek re-election ;ts a representative of the above Ward. I res- pectfully bejg to remind you that it has been my privilege to serve you far nearly 15 years in that capacity. During that period, I think I might say that I have always en- deavoured to promote sound and progressive administration of the town's affairs, and I sincerely trust that I shall continue to en- joy that confidence which you have accorded me in the past. 1 am. Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, West Lynn, J. O. THOMAS. Charlton Street, Llandudno, March 25, 1909. r8 I LLANDUDNOURBANDISTRICT" COUNCIL. 65, Mostyn Street, Llandudno, March, 1909. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— After three years of faithful service on the U.D.C., I have been asked, by an influential and representative body of Rate- payers in the Ward, to again offer myself as a Candidate, and to this request I have acceded. I claim to have striven to justify the con- fidence you then placed in me, and have every reason to believe my services have been appreciated. ECONOMY. As showing the part I have played in economy, I claim to have been tihe means of having saved a considerable amount of money to the Ratepayers in connection with the repairs at Llyn Dulyn Embankment. Last year we adopted the Free Libraries Act, and took over the old premises, levy- ing a Id rate for the maintenance of same without any advance on the rates. LIGHTING. At my request many new incandescent lamps have substituted the old ones in front and back streets, thereby causing the streets to be better lighted at a less cost. After serving on the Bye Laws Committee for two years, I was elected Chairman of the same, and claim to have performed my duty on that Committee without bias. During my three years, I have been one of the strongest supporters in providing work for the working men of the town dur- ing the winter months; namely, the exten- sion of the 15 inch water main from Vaughan Street to Llanrhos one winter, and from Llanrhos to Llandudno Junction the follow- ing winter, being convinced that all work of a similar nature should be carried out by the Council during the winter months, namely, between October and March. With full confidence, I leave the result in your hands, and if again returned, vou shall have, as in the past, the best services I can render you. I am, your obedient servant, THOMAS SMITH. Victoria Restaurant, Llandudno. rl2 LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE WESTERN .WARD. AFTER having served the Ratepayers of Llandudno generally, and of the East Ward in particular for Nine years, during which time I have endeavoured to do my duty by regular attendance at Council Meetings and close attention to the details of Committee work, I have decided to again offer myself as a Candidate for the suffragas of the (Electors of the East Ward. In my first Election address I stated that "if elected I should go into the Council with a free hand to judge the various projects on their merits and vote accordingly." This principle I have adhered to throughout, and with confidence refer the Electors to my record of public service. If you consider this justified your renewed confidence I respectfuly beg to solicit jour vote and support at the Poll on Saturday, -April 3rd. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Obedient Servant, S. CHANTREY. P.S.—I shall not make any canvass as I believe each Elector should have an oppor- tunity of recording his vote unbiassed by personal influences. rIO X0TOP ONE MOMENT. \f OH DEAR, DOCTOR.
