r gplritorrgl LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION, 'TO THE ELECTORS OF THE EASTERN WARD. DEAR SIR OR MADAM,— .My time, as your representative on the Urban District Council, has just expired., -and I am asked by a large and influential number of ratepayers to again offer myself for re-election. I trust that by the many improvements which have taken place in the Ward during my term of office, I have in some manner fulfilled the duties required of me. I ask you now for your further sup- port and confidence in the coming election. I will always be at your service, and highly pleaded to receive any suggestions from you as to needed improvements in the Ward and Town generally. Thanking you for your past support, and hoping for your further confidence. I remain, Yours faithfully, r9 HENRY WILSON. LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION, TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD. DEAR SIR OR MADAM,— I have the honour to inform you that it is my intention to seek re-election us a representative of the above Ward. I res- pectfully be.g to remind you that it has been any privilege to serve you for nearly 15 year.- in that capacity. During that period, I think I might say that I have always en- deavoured to promote sound and progressive administration of the town's affairs, and I sincerely trust that I shall continue to en- joy that confidence which you have accorded jne in the past. I am. Ladies and Gentlemen, Yours faithfully, West Lynn, J. O. THOMAS. Charlton Street, Llandudno, March 25, 1909. r8 LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION, 1909. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE EAST WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— On Saturday, the 3rd of April, you will be called to record your-vote in the .above Election. I again offer mytseif as a candidate, and hope that you will place the same confidence in ane as you have done on the three previous occasions, which I have had the honour of seeking your support. In due course my address will be posted .fco you. Yours faithfully, Cartref, R. T. WILLIAMS. Roumania Drive. rll LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE EASTERN WARD. AFTER having eerved the Ratepayers of Llandudno generally, and of the East .Ward in particular for Nine years, during which time I have endeavoured to do My duty by regular attendance at Council Meetings and close attention to the details of Committee work, I have decided to again offer myself as a Candidate for the suffrages of the iElectors of the East Ward. In my first Election address I stated that "if elected I should go into the Council with a free hand to judge the various projects on their merits and vote accordingly." This principle I have adhered to throughout, and with confidence refer the Electors to my record of public service. If you consider this justified your renewed confidence I respectfuly beg to solicit your vote and support at the Poll on Saturday, April 3rd. I am, Ladies and Gentlemen, Your Obedient Servant, S. CHANTREY. P.S.—I shall not make any canvass as I believe each Elector should have an oppor- tunity of recording his vote unbiassed by personal influences. rlO LLANDUDNO URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL. 65, Mostyn Street, Llandudno, March, 1909. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— After three years of faithful service on the U.D.C., I lhave been asked, by an on the U.D.C., I have been asked, by an influential and representative body of Rate- payers in the Ward, to again offer myself as a Candidate, and to this request I have acceded. I claim to have striven to justify the con- fidence you then placed in me, and have every reason to believe my service-shave been appreciated. ECONOMY. As showing the part I have played in economy, I claim to have been the means of having saved a considerable amount of money to the Ratepayers in connection with the repairs at Llyn Dulyn Embankment. Last year we adopted the Free Libraries Act, and took over the old premises, levy- ing a Id rate for the maintenance of same without any advance on the rates. LIGHTING. At my request many new incandescent lamps have substituted the old ones in front and back streets, thereby causing the afreets to be better lighted at a less cost. After serving on the Bye Laws Committee for two years, I was elected Chairman of tlie same, and claim to have performed my duty on that Committee without bias. During my three years, I have been one of the strongest supporters in providing work for the working men of the town dur- ing the winter months; namely, the exten- sion of the 15 inch water main from Vaughan Street to Llanrhos one winter, and from Llanrhos to Llandudno Junction the follow- ing winter, being convinced that all work of a similar nature should be carried out by the Council during the winter months, namely, between October and March. With full confidence, I leave the result in your hands, and if again returned, vou shall have, as in the past, the beet services I can render you. I am, your obedient servant. THOMAS SMITH. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CENTRAL WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— NOMINATION. I am emboldened to accept the nomina- tion for a, seat on the above Council by the fact that I feel that I know as well as most men what are the requirements of our town to keep it in the front rank as a pleasure resort. T.I.A. My knowledge has been gained by 14 years careful work on the Town Improve- ment Association. EXTENSION CONCERTS. Helped by a body of good workers. twe have brought to a successful financial issue a scheme to run Extension Concerts at the Pavilion to the end of October this year. I am confident that future seasons may be still further prolonged. There is much good work waiting to be carried out in this direction, and I pledge myself if you return me to lose no time otr opportunity in pushing forward all schemes tending to extend our season. SUNDAY TRAMS. Should the question of Sunday Trams arise, in my opinion no action should be taken until a poll of the ratepayers has been taken upon the subject. PERSONAL. My vote at all times will be unbiassed fcy either Creed or Politics. Yours faithfully, The Causeway, W. ARNOLD. Deganwy Street, Llandudno. rl3 URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL OF COLWYN AND COLWYN BAY. TO THE ELECTORS OF THE NORTH WARD. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,— .L< At the request of many influential Ratepayers, I come forward as a Candidate £ or the above Ward. I claim to be one of the Pioneers of Colwyn Bay, and I offer you my experience. I am a large Rate- payer in the Ward, and am in full sympathy with its requirements. I offer no vague promises, but will keep a keen eye for an EFFICIENT and ECONOMICAL adminis- tration. Should you deem me worthy of your confidence, be kind enough to do me the honour of recording your vote in my favour at the Polling Station on Monday, April 5th, 1909. Yours faithfully, Pendorlan, O.
