May be had throughout the United Kingdom. In boxes at Is lid, 2s 9d, 4s 6d, and lis. 18, NEW ORMOND-STREET, LONDON. c OCKLE'S ANTIBILIOUS PILLS. These PILLS consist of a careful and peculiar admixture of the best and mildest vegetable aperients with the pure extract of the flowers of the camomile. They will be found a most efficacious remedy for de- rangement of the digestive organs, and for torpid action of the liver and bowels, which produce indi- gestion and the several varieties of bilious and liver oomplaints. They speedily remove the irritation and feverish state of the stomach, allay spasms, correct the morbid condition of the liver and organs sub- servient to digestion, promote a due and healthy secretion ef bile, and relieve the constitution of all gouty matters and other impurities which, by cir- culating in the blood, must injuriously affect the action ofthe kidneys thus, by removing the causes produc- twe of so much discomfort, they restore the energies both of body and mind. To those who indulge in the luxuries of the table, these Pills will prove highly use- ful, occasioning no pain in their action unless they meet with an unusual quantity of acrid bile and acid matter in the stomach and bowels. To Europeans, on their arrival in India or China, they are reoommended as a preservative against the fatal disorderr peculiar to a tropical climates. Their occasional use, if combined with the strictest atten- tion i to diet, will be frequently found to remove at once, by their influence over the secretions, that con- gestive and unhealthy condition of the liver which is 09 often the earliest antecedent of severe febrile and constitutional disturbances. It must be understood that these Pills are not re- commended at containing any new or dangerously active ingredients on the contrary, they are charac- terised by a remarkable simplicity of combination, and whatever merit they may be found to possess depends as much upon the selection of pure drugs, and the unusual labour and attention best-owed upon their subsequent preparation, as upon the acknowledgod peculiarity or their composition. They are not recom- mended as a panacea, nor are they adapted to all complaints; but as a mild and efficacious aperient and tonic in the various forms of indigestion, it will not perhaps be an exaggeration to state that they have been resorted to under all systems of diet, changes of climate, or atmospheric alterations, with an extra- ordinary degree of success for seventy-nine years. ml This celebrated Family Aperient may be had throughout the United Kingdom, in boxes tt Is lid, 2s 9d, 4s 6d, and lis, as well as in India, China New Zealand, and Australian Colonies. c OCKLE'S ANTIBILLIOUS PILLS. The locks are also in perfect order.—Yours truly, BEDNAL BROTHERS. The above Safe was manufactured twenty-vwo years ago. Albion Corn Mills, Salford, Manchester, January 7th, 1879. Dear Sir,—Between Saturday and Sunday last, a de- termined attempt was made to break open one of your Safes by means of sledge hammers, wedges, and other burglarious instruments. But the door being made of your Patent Case-Hardened Material, successfully re- sisted every method of attack, although the burglars dragged the Safe from its stand to the centre of the office floor so as to obtain full scope for their operation. Though the Safe is but slightly damaged, and was un- locked by us without difficulty, it had evidently been operated upon for many hours, but I am happy to say without the slightest success. I may add that this is the same Safe which preserved my books and papers intact during the severe fire which occurred at my premises ten years age, and has there- fore proved itself to be a very faithful servant.—Yours truly, ROBERT BAXENDELL. H A Y Al A N'S BALSAM OF HOREHOUND, Price of Is I-ld and 2s 9d per bottle. 2 For Coughs, Colds, Influenza, Bronchitis, Difficulty of Breathing, Incipient Consumption, and all Diseases of the Lungs and Air Vessels. Of all disorders to which persons are liable none are more generally neglected in their commencement or more fatal in their termination than what is com- monly known as a slight or "bit of a cold," too often ending in the more terrible form of Pulmonarv Con- sumption. -01 It is almost needless to remark this is usually occa- sioned by a check being given by exposure to draughts, damp linen, sudden changes of temperature, &c., &c., to that moisture which, in th'e shape of sensible or insensible perspiration is constantly exuding from the minute pores of the skin, and by repercussion, pro- ducing irritation, inflammation, or disturbed function of the air vessels, or even extending to the substance of the lung itself. The only rational method of curing th-se disorders is by the use of agents which will not only allay pulmonary irritation, but improve and strengthen the system with- out undue excitement. This the Balsam of Horehound does, as is admitted by all who have had occasion to use it, being scientifically compounded by the best and purest medicaments; it possesses the valuable pro- perty of immediately subduing all pain and irritation of the chest, from what cause soever arising, without reducing the patient's strength, hence its great and ad- mitted efficacy in Asthma, Bronchitis, and Pulmonary Consumption. Clergymen and Public Speakers will find it a most effectual safeguard asrainst Hoarseness, Chronic Bron- chitis, and all affections of the Vocal Organs. To patients suffering from Pulmonary Consumption it will be found invaluable, aslit almost instantly re- lieves .the most distressing cough, pain in the chest difficulty of breathing, &c., &c. In the night sweats, so fearfully weakening in this disease, it generally checks them in the course of a few days. Sold in bottles, at Is Id and 2s 9d each, by all Chemists. Prepared only by A.
