STATIONED OFF BANGOR, IN THE MENAI STRAITS. PBESIDENT AND CHAIBMAN OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE HIS GRACE THE^DUKE OF WESTMINSTER K.G THE Executive Committee beg to Appeal for Funds to enable them to erect a Top Gallant Forecastle, and thereby provide better accommodation for the Sick (as strongly recommended by the medical authorities), and otherwise make improvements tor the health and comfort of the 264 boys now on board. Of this number, many are from various counties in Wales; about one-half from various parts of Lancashire (in- cluding a large number from Manchester); the others are from London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Chester, and other large towns. The Committee have been obliged to refuse admission to many boys, during the past few months, owing to want of space (there being no other similar Institution between Bristol and Greenock). About lOool is required at once, and the Committee have decided to raise a Special Fund to enable them to carry out the object. If every reader of this Appeal will kindly send a Donation to the Hon. Sec., H. T. Brown, Esq., Newgate House, Chester or to the Captain Superin- tendent, Commander W. M. Moger, R.N., on board the Clio, they will be aiding the good work of Saving the Boy. The Committee regret having to make this Appeal, which would have been unnecessary had it not been for the failure of the Bazaar held in August last, owing to the floods and general bad weather which disorganised the railway traffic.
