Mr. STANTON & EX-SOLDIERS…
Mr. STANTON & EX-SOLDIERS INCOME-TAX. Mr. Stanton (C.N.D.P., Aberdare) asked the Secretary for War in the House of Commons on Wednesday if he was aware that members of the Welsh National Federation of Discharged and Demobilised Sailors and Soldiers were protesting against assessment to in- come-tax, and that they demanded that all those who had served in his Majesty's forces during the war should be exempted from paying income-tax for a period equivalent to the duration^ of the war, and Fonld he consider this ? Mr. Baldwin I am aware of the re- presentations to which my hon. friend refers, but I do not see my way to sup- port the proposal put forward.
