In this action, Robert Parry, auctioneer, claimed £ 1 from Daniel Jon£6, Gwynfryn, for whom Mr A. 1. Parry appeared.—Ji. .Parry held an auction at" Bron y Gadair Ja.st year, and Hold a mare to Daniel Jones on condition that if she was in foal, he i(Jones) was to pay the vendor £ 1. The mare was in foal. -Defeii,dan t denied that the terms mentioned were attached, to the sale.Parry proved the contrary.—Judg- m-eut for the claimant. A. 1. PAiRR-Y v. J. W. LLOYD. The plaintiff stated that J. W. Lloyd, Cohvyn Bay, owed him 26s 6cl for profes- ] sional work. The defendant repudiated the debt, and said; that the plaintiff owed him monev,-The Judge thought that it was a matter of account, and referred it to the rt'gistrar. COMPENSATION. The court made an order for the payment of £ 75 to Sarah Roherte, Xant v Cwm, Llanaelhaiarn, and of the interest on £ 75 to her two daughters, the money having been paid. in by a quarry company as compensa- tion for tne loaS Mrs Roberts had sustained through the death of her husband whilst empioved at tile company is quarry. HUGHES. This was an action in which H. Smalley, Pwllheli, claimed tl8 from John Hughes, Bryn Arlais, Llanaelha.iarn.1Smalleys.tated that he gave a blind mare to Hughes on condition that he (Smalley) should have the 'first live foal from her. The mare had been given by defenda.nt to another person, and the latter had sold it to a fourth party.— ■Mr Cradoc Davies was for _Smalley, and Mr Proctor (instructed by Messrs Ellis Davies, Jones, and Jones, Carnarvon), was for the defence.—(Mr Proctor said that the mare had not had a foal.-Pla.intiff then claimed the return of the mtare.—The Judge did not think that there had been any breach of the conditions, and gave judg- ment for the defendant.

BANSOR POLICE COURT. RAILWAY rROiSECUTIOXS. Tuesday, before Messrs J. Eva.n Roberts (in the chair) and' Henry Lewis. John Hughes, of 9, Corn Hill, Portmadoc, was charged 'by the London and North Western Railway Company with having travelled ivitho-ust a ticket. Mr Sn.m. Lewis (Messrs S. R. Dew and Co.) prosecuted on behalf of the railway company. The defendant was not repre- sented. .Mr Lewis stated that the defendant had travelled from Crewe to Bangor without a ticket. On Sunday. February 28th. James Green nought, a brakesman on the London and North Western Railway, took his ^ent in a third class compartment at Crewe. As 'the train had left Crewe station, the de- fendant came out of the lavatory, and en- tered into a conversation with Greennought. He asked the brakesman where the train would stop at next. Greennought replied Flint, and when the-y WeTie nearing Flint the defendant again entered the iavfnorv and stayed there tllntoilthe train had just left the ptattion. When the train was nearing Rhiyl. he again we-hi: to the lavatory. On nearing Conw ay. he asked if the train stopped there, and Greenruougtht replied tha.t it did not. On nearing Bangor, the defendant eakl that. he w-anted to book at Bangor, as he was going to Portmadoc. The -accused then said, 'T am going to try and bluff them at Bangor." He went out of the train a!. Bangor, but he could not book there. Defective MeFall saw the de- ifendant, and he asked him for his ticket. The defendant siaid that he had come in at Conway. The train did not stop at Con- way. Eventually the defendant offered to pav from Crew^. to Bangor. Evidence was given by James Green- nought and Detect've M'oFaIL as well as Wm. Hotkinson. ticket collector, Crewe, wtho produced the Liverpool to Crewe ticket. The defendant gave evidence on oath, and ilenied that he attempted to defraud the r-omipany. !Hf' had some drink, and that wos the cause of it. A letter was read in court from a Portmadoc solicitor, on his behalf, saying that he was a hard working sailor and that he had got into the muddle through drink. c The defendant wns fined 5s and costs. MALICIOUS DAMAGE. Wm. Hughes (jun.). a quarryman, living at Gorad Goch street. Glasimfryn. Bangor, ww charged with having, on Saturday. February 20th. damagied a window of a carriage of the London and North Western Railway. Mr S. Lewis fMessrs IS. R. Dew and Co.) prosecuted. The defendant pleaded guilty, and Hugh Williams, platform porter, gave evidence shortly. As the defendant pleaded guilty, no further evidlence was called. The diamage done was, 7s 6d, and Mr Lewis added that the defendant was drunk on the day in question, and deliberately placed his fist through the window. 1 The Bench fined the defendant 10s 6(1 and costs and the damage to the window ASSAULT AND BATTERY. John Williams, Caellepa, an, outside porter i'1.t the railway station, summoned Roderick Roberts, Kyffin square, with assault and battery. Williams ft a id that the defendant had assaulted him 'bv striking him on the side of his head with his fist He was also threatening him. P.C. Jones (15) gave evidence that he saw the defendant striking Williams, The Bcnch fined the defendant 2s 6d and eosts, and bound him over to be of good 'behaviour.

TUBERCULIN TEST FOR CATTLE." ? ABERYSTWYTH EXPERIMENTS. An important experiment has just been carried out on the herd of cows at the Joint Counties and College Farm, Aberystwyth. With a view to discovering whether any of the animals suffe.red from tuberculosis. Calmette s test, which consists of dropping the tuberculin into the eye. was tried. If the eye becomes inflamed within twelve hours after applying the test the animal is considered to be affected. Of the twenty animals thus treated three were found to he tuberculous. It is believed that this is the first time Calvette's test has been tried in Wales.
