VALLEY BOARD OF GUARDIANS. The aanoal mating of tin- Board of Guardiaaa of the Holyhead Union hits ltcld on Tuesday. Mr O. H. Foulkes, J.P. (chair- man), presiding. CHAIRMAN AND VFCE-CHAIRMAN. Mr Fotilkea was re-elected chairman, ana Mr R. Gardner, vice-chairman. OUT-RELIEF. Tfcs Cterk reported that the following sumg wewj paid in out-relief during the pa-61 fortnight: Holyhead: £ 75 lis 6<1 to 200 paupers, incttse.so of 6s in relief and of one in the paupers, as compared with the cor- responding period of last year. Aberffraw JE52 48 to 207 paupers, decreas-s of £2 4s 6d in relief and increase of one pauper. Bod- edern: £46 16s to 157 pauper, decrease of £ 6 14s in relief and decrease of 24 in pau- pers. MASTER'S REPORT. The Master re-ported that there were 52 inmates in the house, against 55 for the cor- responding period of last year. Two wem- admitted and two discharged during the last fortnight, and 26 tramps were relieved dliv- ing the nitnsc period. BASTER TREATS. Mm Yox Pitt, Master Fox Pitt, and Mrs Fitzgeorgo, of Pr-esackifed, Bodedern. visited the hout-e on the 12th inst., and pre- sented 611 the women inmates with tea and sugar, the men with tobacco, and the children with sweets and oranges. Hot cross bans were sent for Good Friday by Mr j W. LLow. Jonea, Denbigh House, Holyhead, and the Rev D. Price and Mrs Priue, the Vicarage, Valley, had also supplied hot cross buns for all the inmates and tobacco for all the men. Mrs Ann Hughes, grocer, Valley, and Mr and Mrs Thomas, Hotel, Valley, had also supplied eggs for the in- mates. — On lne motion of Mt. T. Forcer Evans a hearty vote of th-anks was accorded the donors. A DESERVING CASE. A oaee for relief from the Aberffraw dis- trict was brought before the Beard. An allowance of 2s 6d per week was made to an old woman, who had 13 children and 46 grand-children, all being alive. FINANCIAL. The Clerk reported that the overseers' contributions had been under-estimated at a rate equivalent to halfpenny in the t. Thus was doe to the failure of the County Coun- cil to notify the probable amount required. —Mr Gardner said the County Council owed £ 3000, and they were quite happy {loud laughter). — The Chairman said they were bla.mod by the ratepayers on account of the increased rates, but he wished it to be known that they as a Board only col- lected the rate for other authorities. — It was decided to call the attention of the County Council to their belated demands. The precepts had been issued and the rates ♦signed. ALTERATIONS AT THE HOUSE. The tender of Mr John Jones, of Gorphwysfa, Bcdffordd, Heneglwys, was ac- cepted. The amount of tue contract, is £V46.
