PRACTICAL THANKSGIVING IN WALES. In the hope of assisting the inhabitants of Cardiff, Swansea, Merthyr, Newport and other important towns in South Wales, to give a practical turn to the celebra- tion of the recovery of the Heir Apparent, we gladly place the gratuitous use of our columns at the disposa 1 of the officials connected with the various benevolent institutions of the Principality, for the acknowledgment of subscriptions which may be sent in towards their funds, on Tuesday next. We do so the more readily because a feeling has been expressed, in many quarters, favourable to the suggestion thrown out by us on Saturday last. The opportunity of turning so auspicious an occasion to account in the interest of our Infirmaries and Hospitals, should not be lost, and we, therefore, respectfully urge upon the public the advisability of bearing the sick and suffering in kindly remembrance upon a day set apart, by general consent, for the recognition of Divine compassion and mercy extended to the PRINCE at a period when his Royal Highness appeared to be beyond all human help. The propriety of recognising the ever-increasing demand upon the resources of these beneficent establishments, ana the duty of providing adequately for the af- flicted, in supplementing the unpaid labours of devoted medical men by spontaneous and liberal contributions, will, we trust, find acceptance among all classes; while the record of generous sympathy with those who dedicate so much valuable time and skill to the cause of humanity, will form a gratifying memorial of charitable aid fittingly bestowed upon a day of national thanksgiving.
