MOUNTAIN ASH. THE LEAGUE.—About forty new members joined the branch society lately formed in this place. An executive committee" was formed, with its full complement of offi- cials, and it was resolved that the whole place should be divided into districts, with a view of getting up petitions to Parliament, in support of Mr. Dixon's resolutions for the amendment of the Education Act. MEETING OF COLLIERS.—A crowded meeting was held at the long room Allen's Arms, on Friday evening- to consider the best means of removing the cause of com- plaint made by the door boys, when it was resolved that. thirteen workmen, representing the Cwmpennar Pits and the same number representing the Deep Duffryn' and Navigation Pits, should meet on Saturday evening at the Harp Inn, for the purpose of considering the mattar with a view to bring about a settlement. It was also arranged that all the boys should go to their work as usual.
