LLANGURIG. WORKMAN'S DINNER.âOn Thursday, January 20, the workmen employed at the restoration of the parish church, and other invited friends, sat down to a sumptu- ous dinner, provided by the host of the Black Lion Inn, at the expense of Mr. J. Youde W. Lloyd. The guests numbered upwards of forty. The Rev. J. W. Griffith, vicar, presided, and the vice-chair was occupied by the Rev. W. Roberts, curate. Among the gentlemen present were Messrs. J. R. Pryce, Pant-drain, D. Owen, J. Watkin, D. Rees, T. J. Griffiths, J. Davies, and others. After dinner several appropriate speeches were given and songs sung, and a very pleasant evening was spent. This was only one out of several similar gatherings enjoyed by the people of Llangurig through the liberality of Cheva- lier Lloyd. The restoration of the old church is being carried out entirely at his expense.
