BASTION HOUSE SCHOOL SPORTS. The Bastion House School Sports were beld on Saturday last, and were entirely successful. The ground was gaily decorated with flags for the occasion, and presented a brilliant scene. Perhaps not the least impor- tant factor contributing to the success of the day. was the weather, the afternoon being bright and warm, not to say hot, and the absence of a strong wind was a boon to both spectators and competitors. Among those present were: Rev. 0. J. Davies, M.A. (president), W. P. Richardson, Esq., M.A. (whose services as judge were invaluable), R. C. Taylor, Esq. (starter), J. -H. Percy, Esq. (referee), and several parents of the boys. Great credit and praise are due to Mr Myers for the able way in which the arrange- ments were made and carried out. The results were as follows: Throwing Cricket Ball (junior)—1 Csnnah, 2 R. Taylor. High Jump (junior)-l R. Morris, 2 T. Taylor. Sack Race—1 R. Morris, 2 Wynne, 3 Mason. High Jump (senior)-l Meredith, 2 Burton. Kicking Football (senior)—1 Burton, 2 Meredith, 3 Kelly. Long Jump (junior)— 1 R. Morris, 2 Macarthy. Egg and Spoon Race—1 Rowland Taylor, 2 Burton, 3 Harrop. Throwing Cricket Ball (junior)-l Poggi, 0 2 T. Taylor. 100 Yards Handicap-1 F. Green, 2 Rowland Taylor, 3 Meredith, 4 Mason. Long Jump (senior)—1 Meredith, 2 Burton. Wheelbarrow Race—1st couple F. Green and Barton, 2nd couple, D. Morris ;and Rowland Taylor. Tug of War-winning team: Rowland Taylor (capt), Carrington, y 0 Cunnah, Duncan, Ashfield, T. Taylor, Burton, Wynne. Refreshments were provided on the ground, and at the conclusion of the pro- gramme, the prizes were gracefully distri- buted by Mrs Meredith (of Chester), a very enjoyable afternoon being terminated by cheers for Mrs Meredith, Miss Green, the Vicar, and Mr Myers, in which Bruce" joined lustily. -Å.

THE EDUCATION BILL. Speaking on the new Education Bill, Mr "Herbert Lewis, M.P., said:—"I regard the Bill as the most practical solution of the edu- cation problem which is possible at the pre- sent time. In Wales we have especial reason to congratulate ourselves upon the prospect of securing control over our own educational system through the medium of the proposed national council."

- The League.
The League. The championship of the North Wales Junior League was definitely settled on Saturday. Rhyl Victoria by defeating their local rivals, the Guild, making themselves quite safe at the top of the table. It is cer- tainly a very good performance for a new club, but still it cannot be denied that they have been greatly helped by good luck. 0 Prestatyn's only chance now is to secure second position, but to do this they will still have to earn three, if not four, points from their remaining matches. The Prestatynites are very like the Liverpool teams, they flatter only to deceive, for three seasons ago they worked themselves into the semi-final for the Junior Cup, only to be beaten 2-1 by Flint, whilst last season they again got to the same post, only to retire beaten, (after giving 0 a wretched display) by Flint, 2-0. Then the Flintshire League championship was 0 missed, Prestatyn only being able to come second to Mold.

Next Saturday the Rhyl Church Guild visit Prestatyn. This will be Prestatyn's last home match this season, and should be the means of attracting a good gate.
